My parents took me on holiday to Perranporth in about 1951 when I was about seven.  I used to pop into see Mr Bingley at work each day and loved watching him paint.  When we were due to leave I asked if I could buy one of his pictures of the beach for my mother!  He kindly sold it to me for 6d and she was delighted with it.  That picture was displayed for years in her home and I now have it in mine. As a child in the 50's I lived at Perranporth and went to school very near to Mr Bingley's studio opposite the boating lake.
